gain networking

GAIN - Board Development Programme.

GAIN (Governance, Access, Inclusion and Networking) is a governance development programme with two main aims:

  • To support arts and heritage organisations in building the capacity, confidence and diversity of their boards.
  • To encourage and develop potential new board members from a wide range of hitherto excluded groups.

Since 2006, ITC has offered governance training and networking opportunities to 100 BAME and disabled people, and 82 Arts and Heritage organisations. ITC also facilitated matches between participating individuals and organisations. To date, 40 board appointments have been made and ITC is continuing to facilitate this matching process.

In February 2009, ITC launched a web-based Board and Skills Bank which participants have been encouraged to join and use. Individuals and organisations who have not taken part in GAIN are welcome to use this resource.
