GAIN stands for Governance, Access, Inclusion and Networking, which encapsulates the thinking behind the project since its pilot in 2004 and in its current aims.
Gain started as a development programme for potential board members from black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups, disabled people, as well as for the boards of arts and sports organisations.
Since its pilot phase, GAIN has been funded and steered by the following bodies:
Arts Council England
Arts & Business
Mayors Office
Museums Libraries and Archives
Sporting Equals
'Gain has opened up a whole new possiblity for Oval House. The impact of having people who bring a wealth of experience from their professional lives, and specific and relevant training through ITC has been immediate. Two Gain participants have already been voted in as honorary officers'
