Gain - Aims and Objectives

The Gain programme has three main aims:


  • to increase the diversity of arts, heritage and sports organisations in London, at board level to increase the awareness of and commitment
  • to diversity issues within arts, heritage and sports organisations in London to resource individuals from BME groups
  • to serve on the boards of arts, heritage and sports organisations.

The programme will achieve these aims by delivering on the following objectives


  • to provide a modular training programme to participating organisations in London
  • to deliver a modular training programme to Black and minority ethnic individuals which will equip them to serve on the board of an arts or sports organisations
  • matching appropriate individuals to participating organisations to serve on their boards
  • facilitating a network of peer support amongst participating Black and minority ethnic individuals both matched and waiting to be matched
