GAIN 2011 has three main aims:
  • To enable 40 arts organisations in London to diversify and develop their boards
  •  develop the skills, knowledge and confidence of existing board members of these organisations in all areas of governance including diversity.
  • To recruit and offer professional development, networking and potential board opportunities to 40 new potential board members with relevant skills who have not had access to arts boards or who are currently under-represented on arts boards.

The programme will take place over a year (2011 - 2012). ITC will facilitate the programme which will comprise:

  • A London-wide recruitment process for 40 arts organisations and 40 individuals.
  • Selection and induction events for participants and organisations.
  • A programme of governance modular training and professional development opportunities for both organisations and individuals.
  • Board facilitation sessions for all participating organisations
  • Training needs analysis for individuals and organisations.
  • A governance resource pack for individuals and organisations.
  • A series of mini-conferences and networking opportunities for organisations and individuals.
  • A governance newsletter, Skills Bank and website.
  • Advice service for participating individuals and organisations.
