The Gain programme is designed to equip individuals from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority groups with the skills and knowlegde to serve as board members of a London based arts, heritage or sports organisation. (section 37(a) of the Race Relations Act applies).

During the 2006/07 Gain Programme 40 participants received Corporate Governance training and engaged in numerous networking opportunities. So far 22 participants have been appointed to the boards of sports and arts organisations in London.

Gain participants will:

• Gain the information needed to become a board member of a sports, heritage or arts organisation
• Gain an in-depth understanding of Corporate Governance
• Gain the opportunity to affect change within the sports, heritage and arts sector.
