What is Gain?
Gain is a board development programme aimed at individuals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups, covered by section 37(a) of the Race Relations Act 1976. This programme provides Gain participants with the opportunity and skills to serve on the boards of arts or sports organisations in London and aims to increase diversity of board membership in the arts, heritage and sports organisations in London. The Independent Theatre Council is managing this programme, on behalf of five partners; Museums Libraries and Archives, Arts Council England, Sporting Equals, the Greater London Authority and Arts & Business, who collectively fund and steer the programme.

  • Matching appropriate individuals to participating organisations to serve on their board
  • Facilitating a network of peer support amongst participating BME individuals
