Gain offers participating organisations:

• Selection and induction events for participants and organisations
• A programme of governance modular training and professional development opportunities for both organisations and individuals
• Board facilitation sessions for all participating organisations
• Training needs analysis for individuals and organisations
• A governance resource pack for individuals and organisations
• A series of mini-conferences and networking opportunities for organisations and individuals
• A governance newsletter, Skills Bank and website
• Advice service for participating individuals and organisations

Active engagement of Organisations
Selected organisation will receive a full facilitated board session (with a Gain Trainer or co-ordinator) at the beginning of the programme which will include an introduction to the training programme modules and enable each board to identify its training and board recruitment needs.

Additionally ITC’s experience of running the Gain programme to date has lead us to seek ways of more actively engaging the support of participating organisations including:

• Hosting an event or course at their venue
• Participating in panel events
• Advocating Gain within their own networks and to supporters (eg engaging their patrons).

The criteria for participating organisations:

• Organisations must be constitutionally capable of appointing a Gain participant to their board. E.g. there must be space available, provision for co-opting, election at AGM
• Participating organisations must be either a sports, heritage or arts organisation located within the Greater London Area.
